Eleanor J. (Sample) Shaffer

Eleanor Jane Shaffer of Greenville, PA passed away peacefully on January 14th, 2026 in UPMC Horizon Hospital Greenville, PA. She was 97 years old.

Eleanor was born on February 22nd, 1928 to Bertha (First) and Chester Sample in Orangeville, OH. She was a graduate of West Middlesex High School. She married David W. Shaffer who passed away on June 13, 1998. Eleanor spent her working years in her home as a mom and wife.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. 

Friends may call Friday January 16th, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the Donaldson-Mohney Funeral Home 124 W. Main St. Sharpsville, PA.

Funeral services will be held Friday January 16th, 2026 at 7:00 pm in the funeral home with Rev. Bill Locke, officiating. 

Burial will take place in Haywood Cemetery next to her husband.
