Richard Weber Obituary

Richard Wayne Weber

December 9, 1949 – December 30, 2025

Richard Wayne Weber passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep. He was 76 years old.

Richard was a devoted father and grandfather whose greatest purpose and joy in life came from loving and supporting his children and grandchildren. He loved his daughter, Carley Taylor, and son, Bryan Weber, fiercely and unconditionally. His pride only grew with the arrival of his grandchildren: Jax Taylor of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, and Brody Weber and Maddox Weber of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was happiest watching his grandsons participate in sports, proudly cheering them on from the sidelines.

Richard graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1967, where he distinguished himself as a talented baseball player and was selected to the Western Pennsylvania Baseball American Legion All-Star Team. He later proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Following his military service, Richard remained deeply connected to his community through his dedication to youth sports. He generously volunteered his time coaching wrestling, football, and baseball, mentoring young athletes and helping shape not only their skills, but their character—teaching discipline, teamwork, and confidence. Over the years, he coached several football players who went on to become All-Americans, a testament to both his knowledge of the game and his commitment to developing young athletes.

Beyond coaching, Richard was passionate about giving back. He organized fundraising events for children in the Sharpsville community who were facing serious illness, quietly working behind the scenes to support families during their most difficult moments.

A lifelong avid Cleveland sports fan, Richard rarely missed an opportunity to support his teams and could often be found wearing his Cleveland Browns gear. He also had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman, and proudly served as a charter captain on Lake Erie, sharing his love of the water and fishing with countless others.

Richard is survived by his children, Carley Taylor and Bryan Weber (Nicole); his grandchildren Jax, Brody, and Maddox; his sisters Linda Masters (Thomas) and Audrey (Jake) McGrath; his brother Jay John (James) Weber Goins; his former wife, Kathy Morris Weber Griffiths; and his longtime partner, Rose Rothbauer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Vivian Joann Harshman, father Peter Weber Jr., and an infant daughter.

He will also be remembered fondly by extended family, friends, former players, and all those whose lives he touched through his service and coaching.
